AX 05 New CB Radio Project – PC122 into Icom IC701
Love my “Yellow Dotted” Uniden PC-122! The extensive audio and TX Audio component upgrades have transformed it into a serious DX CB Radio. The only thing that lets it down is the LED S/RF Meter! So having a un-reparable Icom IC-701 lying around I merged the the great meter and controls on the 701 with the PC-122 CB! AWESOME with the Kenwood MC-85 Microphone driving it to perfection!
Collaborate with my Dxpedition trip to Colombia 3AX1400 Martin 2017 Nov.
Dear friend, I am writing this short letter, to invite you to be part of my next 11m DX project. In the month of November 2017 I will be in the country of Colombia and I want to repeat the multi group radio experience. 6MULTI/DX2 What are the multi? The multi group were born with the idea of “winning” to the bad propagation of the last years… The method is very simple, it is activated with the CALL MULTI DX and in this way, each station that is in the LOG, has the right to request QSL from the group…
President Dwight D. CB Radio with an 858 PLL
Jumped in on a buy it now President Dwight D. CB Radio on ebay [HERE]! Specifically asked the seller to pack the front of the radio facia to be well padded to avoid damage – but his response was “our packer will know what to do” – Yeah RiiiiiGGHHTT! Extremely lucky to get it with no broken knobs or front damage with a few loose foam beads between the cardboard carton and facia! Photo’s looked like a President Madison with an 858 PLL and I did not think to confirm it was SSB on those 40 + Channels! Although it does have…
Ultimate CB Radio – 43AX05
I have become interested in building the ULTIMATE CB RADIO – 43AX05 This based on an existing CB Base Station I have already that works well on TX & RX. The ubiquitous Uniden PC-122 Yellow Dotted HYBRID Icom IC-701 Building the ULTIMATE CB RADIO (43AX05) from my Uniden PC-122 Mobile CB radio built into an ICOM IC-701 Ham radio with all interior components removed. The PC-122 LED meter has been interfaced into the Icom IC701 large analogue meter and adjusted to read correctly. The Yellow Dotted PC-122 is a great performer with the Kenwood MC-85 Microphone which is a direct…
Scanner Data Decoding by Discriminator output
Discriminator output Decoding from Radio Frequency Scanners. The Discriminator output from a scanner is the raw, unfiltered signal that a scanner produces before it is sent to the audio stage for output through the speaker — also called the “baseband audio.” This discriminator source is required for applications such as Trunker, T4Win, UniTrunker, and DSD. Most scanners must have a simple modification made to them to feed the discriminator output to Data Slicers, or in the case of UniTrunker, a soundcard. Note that for providing a signal for ACARS decoding, a connection from an earphone or speaker output is all…
