What does Alpha symbolize?  Alpha Symbol (α)

As the first letter of the alphabet, Alpha as a Greek numeral came to represent the number 1. Therefore, Alpha, both as a symbol and term, is used to refer to the “first”, or “primary”, or “principal” (most significant) occurrence or status of a thing.

Alpha Xray  was the first Australian & International CB Citizens Band Radio group established in 1972/3

What is the origin of “Alpha”? Alpha is a gender-neutral name of Greek origin, meaning “beginning.” It marks the first letter in the Greek alphabet and points to the primary or principal thing.

The letter alpha represents various concepts in physics and chemistry, including alpha radiation, angular acceleration, alpha particles, alpha carbon and strength of electromagnetic interaction .

Why a leader is called alpha?

Alpha (α) is the first letter of the Greek alphabet and is a synonym for dominant.

In fact, the term Alpha is used in the animal kingdom to denote the highest ranked individuals who rule the social group. Being an “Alpha” (male or female) means being the Undisputed Leader of the pack.

Xray (or much less commonly, X-radiation) is a high-energy electromagnetic radiation.

Sign must be posted where radioactive materials are handled or where radiation-producing equipment is used.

Sign is used as a warning to protect people from being exposed to radioactivity.

The three-bladed radiation symbol as we currently know it (except for the colors used) was ‘doodled’ out at the University of California Radiation Laboratory in Berkeley in 1946.

The ionizing radiation symbol, featuring three curved blades emanating from a central point, has been used since 1946 to warn workers, scientists and the public of the presence of radioactive material. Since then, the distinctive trefoil has become an internationally recognized symbol.
